Why Time Is Unlike Any Other Resource Before we get to the three signals, we need to understand why Drucker treated time so differently from every other resource. In my workshops, I often begin this section with a question: "What is the one resource you cannot save, cannot earn more of, cannot borrow, and cannot substitute?" The room always falls silent for a moment. Money can be raised. People can be hired. Equipment can be leased. But time?
