They have cleared exams, written assignments and worn the convocation gown. And yet, when they sit across from me at an interview table or in a corporate training room, a hard truth shows up again and again: a degree is not the same thing as being ready for work. The numbers back this up. A well-known KPMG finding suggests that about 75 percent of Indian graduates are simply not employable in the form they arrive. That statistic should not make you anxious. It should make you curious. Because if three out of four people are unprepared, then preparation itself becomes your single biggest competitive advantage.
