Coal seams under a sacred source

Anuppur's working economy runs on coal and current. South Eastern Coalfields' collieries in the Kotma–Bijuri belt have mined these seams for generations. The Amarkantak thermal power station at Chachai has generated since the 1970s, and a large private thermal plant at Jaithari joined the grid in the last decade.
